Art journal peek: Take your pills

Anti depressants

Another page from my loose pages series. This one has a sadness to it, not sure if you can tell? Antidepressive pills along with depressing quotes…. The quotes by Pascal and Donne are in Swedish, and taken from some paper I got at university when I took Philosophy for one semester. I love this page because to me it expresses a lot of big feeelings. Sometimes I forgot how therapeutic journaling and collage can be. It is such a release to see what you feel (put down on paper like this) that this page makes me smile!

  1. Spännande! det börjar klia i mina fingrar, jag tycker också det är befriande att göra collage. Och fint & träffande citat du hittat!

  2. Hi Hanna,
Very striking! And as you said depressing. I like your page, it makes me think thoughts that lasts for awhile. It’s some of the same feeling I get when I’m reading one of Piet Hein’s tiny poems called: Huskevers. That poem is quite different but still a bit similar.

    • Laila, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog about this journal page, it means a lot to me! Poems can be strong and hold a lot of meaning too, I agree. Making us stop and think for a while…

  3. It is a powerful page Hanna. When someone I knew died suddenly I spent a day art journalling, it was very absorbing and cathartic. I celebrated her life and felt I really found a way to deal with things that are hard to express when words are not enough.

    • Sandie, yes art journaling can be very healing! No matter if you throw out “the bad” on a page or celebrate live and the good parts it’s healthy to “get it out”, examine it and use it. :-)
