A Knitted kind of Crazy

I can’t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I’m frightened of the old ones. John Cage

Crazy iHanna Scarf

I think spring is on the way. We’ve got daylight a lot longer now, the sun is out more and the Crocus in full bloom. But yesterday it was actually snowing (!) when I was out walking. That reminded me that I have a finished knitted project to share, one that I photographed earlier. It was one of the few days we’ve had a lot of snow this winter, so I best share it before summer I thought… And a finished knit! It does not happen often, so it’s something to celebrate.

I affectionately call this one the Crazy Scarf, because it is such a crazy mix of yarn qualities. I assembled them from my stash way back when, but forgot to finish the started project last winter… But now it’s done!

The scarf turned out a bit crazy indeed, just as I intended. And it’s probably way too much for most people, but I harbor warm feelings for it. And in it, I will keep warm. Here are some more photos, because styling DIY style is fun!

the Details

Name: the Crazy iHanna Scraf
Yarn: Wool (Lovikka and other kinds) and a diversity of fancy acrylics – just a bit of everything that I have collected over the years. Prerequisite: that the yarn was happy, colorful and fun
Pattern: My own. I knitted until I could wrap the scraf twice around my neck
Colorway: Mostly magenta pink, sunshine yellow, some green and a bit of kool aided apricots too
Time: Started in 2012, finished January 2015…

I hope I’ll get to wear it more next winter. And in the mean time I have turned to crocheting with yarn from my grandmother’s stash. Not as colorful, but still yummy wool and lovely to handle. I’ll share it when I finish it, in a few years or so… ;-)

Be well my dears, Happy April and Happy Easter!

  2. I love that combination of colors! Just gorgeous! Happy Easter, to you, too!

  3. Okay, my friend Melinda would faint from this scarf! And I almost did, although I’m sitting down. HA! Love it. So whimsical and fun and I know it’s fun to just wear it, and let other people see it.

  4. Hi, iHanna and thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

I love this “crazy” scarf and don’t really think it’s crazy at all. Joyful. That’s what I’d call it.

Glad you’re seeing signs of spring, too. I’m so ready for spring to be here. You make me wish I had planted some crocus last fall so I could maybe have some flowers blooming.

Have a great rest of your week!
