Art Journal Peek: A Green Bird

Suppose someone were to say: ‘Imagine this butterfly exactly as it is, but ugly instead of beautiful’!”
/Ludwig Wittgenstein

Green bird in watercolour

I decided to use only the newly bought artist quality watercolours on another page in my journal. I painted a green bird, surrounded by the darkness of night (payne’s gray).

Oh what a lovely colour this Payne’s gray is, a kind of blue black that drowns everything if you’re not careful. Love it! The mix of green hues makes me happy too!

Green bird

The bird has landed on the ground in the middle of the night. Be careful little bird, it can be dangerous out there… He looks a bit lost, don’t you think? Maybe seeking adventure but more likely: waiting for his family to come find him.

What are you waiting for? Go paint something!

  1. So pretty! I love the green as well. I’ve been in a green mood. Thanks for commenting on my blog, I’m so glad you did. I had you booked marked and read you all the time but about a year ago my computer died and I lost all my book marks. I’m slowly finding everyone one again and your comment led me back to your beautiful and inspiring blog. I think I WILL go paint something!

  2. Love it! I just love your blog, whenever I need some cheering up, or inspiration, your blog is my first stop! I’m going through all of the categories now, lol. I’m addicted!
