Kaleidoscope and potential

I mentioned yesterday that I’ve been getting a lot of great stuff in the mail. Some great books, a private handwritten letter and a fun package with a kaleidoscope of colours from Kris, whose blog has disappeared (or what?), but the girl is alive and really surprised me with this fun mail.
Fabric ATC 04

I sent her a fabric ATC ages ago, but I can’t remember exactly when this was. And now one arrived, a lilac one with a butterfly, a round lill’ mirror and lots of details. Yay, haven’t gotten an ATC for ages either!

The ATC was not the only thing I got from Kris, see photo. Thank you Kris, I hope you read this! A calendar with beautiful cover and pictures of vintage rose illustrations, some fun papers and little things like the plastic coin that says:

Thank you for your kindness. You took the time to show you care!

The rose calendar reminded me of another picture calendar that I thrifted about a year ago or so. It is a calendar for book lovers with illustrations of libraries and from famous books. I adore the cover, but don’t know what I’ll use it for yet. Maybe I should alter it some day? Or maybe I’ll just keep it. The rose calendar I won’t touch until I can scan all the rose images into the computer. I want to use these images over and over again in my collages.

Thrifted this week at Kupan with Anna after school: a white wool skirt (30 SEK) that I would never wear but that has a lot of wool that fill be machine felted. I see a pair of finger mittens, a teddy, a bag? Potential, I see great potential.

{ Potential is the most important thing to remember when you shop for second hand goods! }

And a wool sweater (30) in green that I just adore. It is very cozy, and the embroidery is beautiful. It has a little notch on the arm, but I think it is fixable. It will not be felted, not yet anyway.
