Five Favorite Topics to Read about

I love when you link to my blog, thank you! I also love linking to other people’s content – to share it with my peeps. It’s called Link Love, and we could all do it a bit more. Today I’m presenting my favorite Link Love topics, also known as the topics I devour online! In one way or another they’re all linked to living a good (and creative) life – every day.

Topic #1: Happiness

I love reading about how to live life in a creative, healthy and happy way. In my own ongoing Happiness Project, much inspired by Gretchen Rubin (who wrote a book called The Happiness Project which I love), I’m always interested in learning tricks and methods on how to infuse more happiness into my own life. Tiny Buddha is one of those blogs that write a lot about this topic. For example, how to spread it:

Topic #2: Organizing

I’m not really into reading (or seeing) how you should clean your bath tub in the best way – but I love to know how creative people organize things; their life, stash, photos, computer files, books… A recent find is Lil’ Boo’s blog, where I’ve been poking around a lot in the archives, reading back. I really love her take on organizing your photos for example:

Topic #3: Creative Careers

I am always drawn to the topic of entrepreneurship, marketing small businesses and becoming your own boss. It’s a dream of mine, and I fuel it way to often by reading (or watching/listening to) how other’s achieved their dreams. Recently found The Good Life Project via Gala Darling (where she talks about her career in blogging). Also check out the interview with artist Lisa Congdon, who tells us it’s:

* Never Too Late To Make Art

Topic #4: Blogging

Closely linked to all three topics above is my fourth favorite: blogging! I love learning about new plug-ins, looking at great web design and reading tutorials on how to write good headlines etc. etc. It’s a meta topic, but I can’t help wanting to know it all. Mr Daren ProBlogger always has something interesting to say, as has his guest posters, like:

Topic #5: Art and Craft (tutorials)

Of course I also read a lot of awesome blogs by people, like myself, who share ideas and pictures of their creations online. I particularly enjoy a good tutorial (or illustrated prompt, idea or how to) that has me up and away from the computer in no time trying something new on my own. It doesn’t have to be detailed or technique oriented, sometimes the best tutorials are simple and gives you just a hint of possibility. I like Michell’s watercolour painting Stylized Feather How-To and Natasha’s tutorial on how to weave with transparent papers. Or crafty quilt ideas that doesn’t require measuring much, like:

* The Haphazard Quilt – A scrapbusting project
