Repeating an idea of collage patchwork | Week 30 2025

I love repeating seasons, both in nature and in our creativity. Sometimes it is winter and we slow down and rest, sometimes it is spring and everything feels new and exciting. In summer sometimes I’m hit with a bit of garden envy as I look at beautiful houses with green lawns where flowers bloom everywhere along the edges. One summer in 2018 I came with up with the collage concept “Patchwork Garden”, a play on the paper patchwork I have done so many times before.

In these collages I’m revisiting that idea of creating a patchwork garden in collage using mostly torn strips, some from another one of my dad’s old discarded garden magazines and images from a book about vintage rose illustrations, The Rose – the Botanical Drawings of Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759–1840).

As you’ve seen, this blog post contains seven new artworks (number 204 to 210) from this summer, as I continue creating in my series “365 collages in 2025”. Thank you so much for clicking over, taking a look and leaving me a comment below telling me which of these collages you like best – and why you like it. It means a lot as I trudge along with catching up to the current week.

Please also check out week 30 2013 (the Post-it Note Edition) and week 30 2018 (Chillaxing).

About this project: I am making one collage for each day of the year in 2025 and blogging seven at a time each week here. I have created 365 artworks in a year thrice before so I am hopeful that I can do it again. I’d love to know which of these you like best – and why you like it. Thanks for helping me finish this by cheering me on. I appreciate you being here.

  1. Hi Hanna,
I like very much 207: before autumn arrives, as I smell and feel it already in the air (too soon to my opinion).
