Gold papers that shimmers | Collages from 2022 [5]
This is a fun and rather diverse batch of collages from 2022, when I attempted a 365 collages but got to about +50 of them. It showcases some of my different “styles” that I like to dabble in from time to time. There’s the patchwork style, the torn edges, playing with typography, and at the end three collages using mostly gold papers that shimmer – the monochromatic collage that I love.

“Ett sammelsurium av spretiga bokstäver som sedan sorteras och blir till tydliga rubriker” is rather meta for this collage. It means: “A conglomeration of sprawling letters that are sorted and becomes distinct headlines”. So that’s a bit of irony for you, and with that I reveal I’m from the ironic generation in case you couldn’t guess…. ;-)
Then finally the gold collages. You can’t tell by the images but most of these background papers are bits of wrapping paper or tissue paper bits with gold dots. Hard to scan, but fun to use.

Ommmggg! Lay of the Land….I love it!! The “words of irony” you included took this collage to somewhere thoughtfully beautiful. I’m a firm believer that Language, in written form, is something truly magnificent. They send messages that are straightforward, yet at the same time mysteriously bewildering because the meaning can resonant differently with each different person reading it. Thank you for sharing! I stumbled across your journals on Pinterest a little over 3 years ago and fell in love with the work you shared from your Art Journals. Lately, I’ve done a lot of work spiritually and emotionally and it’s allowed me to be much more confident to connect with fellow creatives, especially ones I look up to, like yourself…lol, so thank you!! 🩷 I love reading your emails and will continue to engage and comment!
The gold papers are gorgeous! I love All the Gold in the Land because of the different textures and shapes. I do like abstracts. But I also love whimsical, and This is Not My Job is so great!
