Dream world ahead | Collages from 2022 [7]
I have almost shared all the collages that I made in 2022 (when I attempted to create 365 collages but got to about +50) with this post of seven collages. In my next part of the series I’ll share the remaining nine collages to wrap things up. I meant to share all of them at the end of last year, but ended up having too much fun with coming up with new blog post ideas in November that I didn’t need “old” collages to fill my quota for NaBloPoMo! So here we are, pacing them out in the new year.
Seven square collages by yours truly. Title below each one. Enjoy.

I found a big image of a butterfly in my stash but decided to include it even though it’s almost too big for the current canvas:

When creating the collage Ma Butterfly I had my camera out and made a reel for instagram that I think fits so well with the soundtrack I picked. There I wrote: “I was so happy I could use this song, such a sweet happy tune that is from 1970s. 🦋 I must’ve heard it at my grandmother’s when I was a kid because it evokes some kind of forgotten happy memory in me. Otherwise I think the sounds on most reels are annoying and stupid, but I guess we’re all trying to learn what works. Happy tunes work for me.”
Here he is in a video that I found for you, and below a link to Spotify in case you want to add it to a happy playlist yourself, hehe.
It’s the French song called Butterfly with Danyel Gérard. I never tire of it even though I don’t understand the words.
Oh well, back to collage.

Thanks for being here, leaving me a comment choosing one or two favorites and letting me know what about that art piece speaks to you. Curious minds wants to know your likes, dislikes and thoughts. :-)
This is part 7 of 8 in the 2022 series of collages that I scanned and decided to share.
Part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 – shared earlier.

Your collages are lovely, and my favorite one in this bunch is Ma Butterfly. It’s gorgeous, and the song is wonderful. I listened to it several times. Thank you for sharing it – I’d never heard that one before.
Oh that makes me happy that you’ve found a great song from me. I love finding new music that I love from other’s recommendations.
Hello! My favorite this time is Crossed Out. I love all that pink! I do love Ma Butterfly as well!
I always feel like it’s hard to “leave it abstract” and not add in a focal point even thought I too love that kind of art and this collage. Thanks Kelly for letting me know.
Hi Hanna! The one l like the most in composition is empty houses, but l like best the colors in crossed out! But all of them are interesting. 😍👍And would like to say thank you for your recommendation of Collage workbook! Got one used from Amazon. Love this book. Love Hilde, Norway. 🇳🇴
HI Hilde, my postcard friend in neighboring country. These collages from a few years ago are in a way better than the once I am creating right now, but I will keep going with my current project to see if I can reach this level of nice again.
My favorite is also Crossed out. The colors really speak to me. Also thank you for the song, lovely. ( Empty house is my second favorite! Again the colors are so nice)
Thank you Jacque for coming by the blog and leaving me a comment, it means a lot to me. I appreciate your eyes on my art, and your feedback.
Love seeing what you create, Hanna! The “empty houses” and “crossed out” are so abstract and so beautifully balanced and they are my favs of this lovely set.
Fabulous collection as always! I think my favourite is “empty houses”, I have a real soft spot for liminally-useful ephemera like tickets and bingo sheets being upcycled into beautiful art
Sailing through the airwaves – I love the owl’s eyes!
Dream world ahead – the composition of this one is very appealing to me.
