Frame-worthy or not | Collages by iHanna from 2022 [4]
Do you enjoy looking at collages? I hope so, because here’s the fourth post with collages from 2022, made by yours truly.

In this post I’m sharing seven collages and some thoughts on what collage art really is (to me).

All of these are made on square paper, 15,8 x 15,8 centimeters (6,2 in inches) in size. I do think of them like art, little pieces of artwork that would look great in a frame on a wall somewhere. I think that is the aesthetic game I play with myself. It’s finished and done when I feel like I’d personally be happy to frame and hang that piece of art on the wall, although of course I can’t do that or I’d be buying frames and filling walls from here to the moon.
But is it frame-worthy?
Now that I think about it, I think that is my measurement for these collages. Would I hang it on my wall? Often times yes, yes I would. It might be a bit high to aim for frame-worthy every time, but at least that’s my measuring-stick for artworks like these. I aim there but I can’t always reach all the way. In my art journals, on other loose paper and in different sketchbooks I don’t aim for that, so I am a lot looser to play with strange and messy combinations I guess. And in glue books I don’t aim for even making art at all, just some pleasing compositions of images that I like. It’s in the eye of the beholder though, what it is and what you’d like to call it. But for me the intention before I start is important, and it guides my work forward.
For this though, who’d frame that? Haha:

This collage, to me, looks more lika a weird but funny and playful art journal page. But I guess that’s okay sometimes too. They can’t all be winners.
The win for me, as stated before, is in the process of creating. I love that.
This is part 4 of the collages I made back in 2022, that are now scanned. Part 1 and part 2 and part 3 shared earlier.

My favorite in this batch is the dragonfly!
These are all so cool! I love seeing your collages. My favorite one in this batch is Duck Lady. Is the circle made with washi tape?
What a fun collection! Thanks for sharing!
