As with everything I think it’s important to not do “the same” all the time. It is a sure way to get stuck, right? Because if you never try other roads than your usual rout, you’ll eventually get stuck in the same track. There are a lot of ways to shake things up, like taking an online workshop, but it’s just as easy to grab another kind of paper or tool than you usually use.
So I tried that with this painting.
I usually don’t start my doodles with a pencil, mostly because I’m lazy. I like to just start with the black ink directly. But this time I wanted to take one of my flower doodles a little further than I usually do. I am known to fill page after page with flower doodles, and never stopping to take a breath.. Lol.
This time though I started with a pencil and then went back in with ink and filled in the lines. I used loose watercolor paper so I could go back later and actually color it in with watercolors – and make the doodle into a finished piece of art.
The background in light blue is done with a Promaker pen, but it was a bit tired I think.
Anyway, I really like how it turned out.
