Uncertainty is where things happen. It is where the opportunities — for success, for happiness, for really living — are waiting.

Panting a blue watercolor mandala, by iHanna

After I made some swatches with my new White Nights Watercolors, on loose paper and in my art journal, I decided to do a test painting. A square one, just for fun. I decided on blue, and started in the middle of the paper…

…and then I let it grow from there into something I have no idea where it came from. It just happened, as is true with a lot of things in life.

A blue watercolor mandala.

It grew more complex and time consuming than I had planned. I was sitting in the sofa, after reading in the awesome novel The Night Circus, when I did this painting.

Painting, reading, writing in the sofa

I remembered a few years back, when I did all my art on this tray, because I had no other space. I remembered that creativity can happen anywhere. And it did.

I think this mandala might be the beginning of a series of paintings actually. What do you think?
