The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man [and woman].

My favorite embroidery style is a loose, free form, anything-goes style. I like to bend the rules, or break up with them.

There are a lot of rules when it comes to stitching, especially cross stitching. Like consistent tension, no big thread jumps – and that all stitches face the same direction! That is fine if you’re following a pattern. But it is very fun to not obey those rules sometimes. To think “outside the box”.

I think you can apply the concept to anything, even cross stitching.

So I tried it, and I think it works.
