Tammy and I did a journal swap a while ago. She made me this awesome little journal with a fabric cover, fold out pages, sewn pages filled with painted papers, scrapbook papers and cute stuff. I sent her a journal I made specially for her, featuring her initials and other bits from my paper stash. I love the surprise element of swapping. A bit of angst about making mine and sending it of, but thrilled to be receiving something handmade by an online friend. It was so exciting to open the envelope (I will share the photos from that next week) and find the journal I had been waiting for.
I could’ve easily filled this journal on my own, but to extend the fun we decided to give each other prompts. There would be a list on each page! And you know how I love lists! I’m hoping some of you will be wanting to do this prompt too, and share links to the journal page you make in the comments below…
So, we came up with list ideas, and then started to fill our books. I have no idea how Tammy’s look as I write this, but I pretty sure it’s awesome since I always enjoy her style. She’s posting hers today too on her blog DaisyYellow. But before you head over there, let’s look the page I made. It’s nothing complicated, just a quick written entry with a rainy-day-sticker.
List prompt: 5 Loves of Spring
List five things you love about spring, or any other season (or all of them!).
This is my list: Things I love about spring.
Things I love about spring
- that the birds makes themselves heard again
- that it’s not dark after work when I get home + there is sunshine in the mornings too
- it’s time to put away winter boots, coats and await summer and warmth
- all the tiny spring flowers sticking up and then the first green leaves of the birch
- that general feeling I get that everything is new, bright and possible!

Oh… I love this idea. How do we find a swap partner or do we arrange this for ourselves?
Sandie, I was more thinking about doing the lists in a journal you already have. At least, that’s the prompt and we’ve started the prompts this week. Making a whole journal and swapping/sending it will take a few weeks, but all you’ve gotta do is ask someone you know online if they want to do a swap with you. Tammy asked me last year and I loved the idea! Good luck!

Oh I get it. That’s what I get for coming in when the project is underway. But hopefully not too late to join in. I will create my own journal this time and hopefully arrange a swap in time for the next …. there, I am already thinking ahead!

Hanna, I think there is a much bigger “change” in Sweden from winter to spring, than in north Texas where our winters are quite mild. And so I loved your comment about putting away the winter boots!

oh, Hanna! I’m late once again! What was I doing on the day you posted this?! I’m so silly
(actually, it was my birthday, but I honestly can’t quite remember what I was doing. HA!)
I’m doing a collaboration with someone now, too! It’s great fun. And it DOES fill a person with trepidation when you send it out, doesn’t it? But it’s rewarding and fun and an ‘in love with life and art’ kind of thing, isn’t it?
I would love to immerse myself in this list prompt project you’ve got going on. I must go read more now, but I wanted to blab first.

I’ve been doing a sort of journal for a while (for myself)but love the idea of creating one for someone else as well…what a fantastic idea! If anyone is up for a swap let me know!
Here in the UK we are moving into Autumn…this is my favourite season of all as I love the colours of the changing foliage and the glow at sunset and the mist in the mornings and the first chilly nip to the air…oh and being able to light the fire and wear boots again!!!
