Fabric flower inspiration

Thank you for all your well wishes and comments on my New Year Resolutions post. I was so surprised that so many had the time to read through that long rambling of words and very happy that it meant something and maybe helped some of you to set new goals and make some resolutions! Resolutions that maybe you’ll just love keeping this new year!?

I’m personally in love with my own vows right now! And if you didn’t make any promises to yourself, it’s not to late today or any day during 2008. The 1st of January is just a nice symbolic date – there are no rules to when you can give yourself a fresh start with new intentions!

Back to crafty land, will you come? Here we go…

I made a couple of fabric flowers.

And, they make great photos! Hehe. I really like how pretty they are, and how easy it was to make them.
There is about 1000 ways to use these, just use your imagination. Hanne (her blog is Heaven & earth) who made the pattern suggests brooches, but you could attach them to your hat, clothes, toys or use them as Christmas decorations/ornaments and even garlands if you have a lot of time, jewelry for kids (or yourself), in your hair, on the curtains, pillows – or a bag! Wouldn’t that be something? Hehe.

I found the idea in Matthiessens book Nyt liv i gamle klude that I bought from her. It’s in Danish which is kind of similar to Swedish. It’s about her shabby chic quilting style with thrifted or second hand fabrics. I thought it would be a book for my mom, but though she said she liked it, “shabby” is not really her style at all. But it sure is my style and I love the images in this book very much because of the worn fabric that is used!

 See that cool table cloth with a vintage blue embroidery of children that now has party hats? I think that is fun, and the fabric ATC sewn to the table cloth in this book is made by yours truly Hanna Andersson and sent do Denmark in April 2006. Can I now say my artwork has been published in a book?

Ha ha, no I don’t think so but it was quite strange to see it in there.
