Is summer over already? The rain keeps poring down any way (+40 to 50 mm so far), so I’ve been hiding in my mothers small but beautiful sewing room. Not to steal her fabric I looked in her sewing trash bin, and found lots of small scraps which I feel is to good to throw away.

It got me started on this series of ATC:s, Artist Trading Cards. They are ATC:s made from my scraps I found in my mother’s sewing trash can, sewn together in crazy quilting style Here’s the first one:

ATC from mom's sewing trash #9

I love fabrics, and I’ve been longing to sew this summer. Pillows, bags, softies, quilts! But sewing projects makes me really tired. Just thinking about cutting up all those squares for a little baby quilt makes me want to give up… How do you compile and finish? You cut and sew and it takes lots and lots of time to produce something useful, straight and correct. I love fast results and have always been like a kid when making stuff; if it’s not finished soon I lose interest.

Sewing little ATC’s is more my style right now. No big preparations and no rules, just colours and structure and voila: little bits of art!
