Last year I meticulously documented an entire week of my life in photos and words. I took a lot of self portraits but also brought my cameras to work, to a party, for walks in nature and in the city – yes everywhere for the entire week. I did blog a bit about it, but not until just recently I finished the project. I am very pleased with my combination of photos + words and I hope to soon show you the final book. I had a lot of fun diving into “my life” like that, so I decided already last year that I wanted to do it again this year. Being so devoted for a set period of time helps me focus and find joy in everyday photography in new ways. I love the Week in the Life project!
I’m hoping that many of you want to join me in this adventure!?
Next Monday, September 9th through Sunday, September 15th we’ve all been invited to document our week right along with Ali Edwards who has done this photo project for 7 years now! It’s only my second year, but I have been looking forward to this quite a lot! It doesn’t really matter what week you pick, but to me it feels good that someone else picked the date and decided when it’s time to start. I’ve already marked my calendar for next week, and on my way home from work today, bought a new camera!
This summer I’ve mostly used my new iPhone 5 for everyday photos (all the photos in this post is taken with the phone), but I miss lugging along my big camera (since the 18-55 mm lens that came with my Nikon d50 broke a few years ago). I have been wanting to get a new camera for ages, but hesitated because of the cost – and being uncertain of what I want/need. Today I just went in and got one. I’m super excited to start using it. Yay!
Please, say you’ll join me in taking lots of photos next week? It’s an awesome adventure making your everyday into something special for one single week!
