The enlightened alternative is to appreciate how incredibly rare and precious human life is. The enlightened alternative is to appreciate EVERYTHING. By appreciating whatever we encounter we can use it to further our journey of warriorship. We are good as we are, and it is good as it is. Once we have this understanding, we’ll see that we are living in a sacred world.

Petit Buddha

I’ve written down several quotes from my new favorite book Turning the Mind Into an Ally by Sakyong Mipham. This one is like a prayer, don’t you think?

Diary Pages: Peaceful abiding

I really enjoyed Mipham’s book Turning the Mind Into an Ally. It is about meditation and how we all can benefit from this beautiful practice. I feel encouraged when I read it. It reminds me a bit of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book Wherever You Go, There You Are that I have mentioned before. Both are poetic, calming and encouraging in their own way.

Liebe

When I found a German magazine I cut out a few things and glued it into my Moleskine diary too. I collect all kinds of beautiful things in my diary; days, memories, teachings, inspirational images, quotes and words. I especially liked the mindfulness girls doing yoga and meditation. Just seeing these images reminds me of what I want to do and how I want my body to feel.

Diary Collage I like tea
In autumn I come back to tea, mostly because I enjoy a hot cup at night when it is too late to have coffee. My favorite Dihlma tea is chamomile or Moroccan mint. I love that in autumn it is okay to stay indoors, drink warm tea and light candles. I got myself a new vanilla scented candle this week and it smells divine.

The kokeshi tag was printed from the site A print a day two years ago. First I thought the archive was gone, but you can download and print your own kokeshi tags! Yay! They are great as gift labels or as journaling spots! I think Kokeshi dolls are so cute. I was looking at a few collector dolls at the toy store this weekend… They are these very cute wooden figures with darling faces and colour coordinated Japanese clothes…
