Collage on bookmarks

Bookmarks with collage

I made bookmarks before Christmas. I think all of them turned out pretty well and I want to do more soon. I think I could probably sit for a week and make these, add little bits of paper, color, write a word here and there… Collage is one of my all time favorite things to do. I love combining pieces of paper and create my art.

Bookmarks with collage

These bookmarks remind me of my Daily Art cards, but these are a step away from being just art because you can actually use them to mark where you are in a book. I like that a lot, because I love reading too! Though I still think they are arty – even after I laminated them to protect the surface. They are originals after all! Another way to produce these would be to print the scanned image and make that a bookmark.

Collage bookmarks I've made

Here are a few from the big pile I made:

Bookmark: Cameron Bookmark: Emily Dickinson Bookmark: Julia Cameron Bookmark: Simone Bookmark: Jung Bookmark: Pablo P Bookmark: Edvard de Bono

All of them have one of my favorite inspirational quotes, things said by cool people like Simone de Beauvoir, Emily Dickinson and Julia Cameron. They are for sale at I Shop with Mom, take a look and let me know if you would like to own one of these!

    Fabulous bookmarks,

How do you get them to look so delicate? Is it just practise? I would love to find an online resource which gives the basic process. I digress though, they are beautiful and laminating them is such a good idea!

  13. Gina says:

These are so clever!! Will have to try soon. :O)

  14. Cool projects here. I was just wondering last night what I could do with magazine pages, as a way to reduce waste. I really like your moleskine pages.

    Thank you all!

Mel: I’m a glue stick kind of girl, any kind goes! I don’t like to use glues that need two tools like a jar and a paintbrush, and I don’t want to get up to rinse the paintbrush either. Glue sticks work for me.

Julie: Thank you for calling these “delicate”! I think it must be practice and following what you like. I collage until I’m happy with the result and then they are done! So practice and having a collection of papers you like is a good resource to become happy with the result.

Robin: I’ll e-mail you about a trade. anyone else?

  22. Have you thought about publishing them/ printing en masse? These would be so nice to see at the big bookstores.

  23. Chris says:

    Beautiful!
These would also be great in their own big collage!

  24. Marion says:

    These are just wonderful!

  25. Sara says:

    Hej Hanna!

    Sara
